एको देवः सर्वभूतेषु गूढः सर्वव्यापी सर्वभूतान्तरात्मा। कर्माध्यक्षः सर्वभूताधिवासः साक्षी चेता केवलो निर्गुणश्च ।।
Eko devaha sarvabhuteshu gudhaha sarvavyapi sarvabhuta antaratma. Karmadhyakshaha sarvabhutadivasaha sakshi cheta kevalo nirgunaha cha.
“God is one, hidden in all, he is all-pervading, is the inner heart of all. He presides over all actions, and all beings reside in Him. He is the witness and pure consciousness, free from the three gunas.”
(NB: The gunas or “qualities of energy,” are “sattva, rajas, and tamas,” and are loosely translated as follows: Sattva: quiescence/peace/neutrality; rajas: passion/aggression; and tamas: inertia / darkness / dullness. These gunas afflict all beings and are the (instrumental) cause of their activity.)

Atha yat idam asminbrahmapure daharam pundarikam veśma daharo asminnantaraakaashah tasmin yat antah tat anveshtavyam tat vaava vijijnyaasitavyam iti.
“Now, in this city of Brahman [the body], is an abode in the shape of a lotus [“veshma” (the heart plexus)], within which is a small space. One must seek THAT which is in that space, with all earnestness.”

Aṅguṣṭhamātraḥ puruṣo madhya ātmani tiṣṭhati īśānaṃ bhūtabhavyasya na tato vijugupsate. Etadvai tat.
“In (the guise) the size of a thumb, in the middle of man, sits the Atma as the Lord, knowing whom one is not repulsed (rent by suffering of) by past and present. This (Atma) is verily THAT alone!”

“Brahman is the offering, Brahman is the oblation, Brahman is the fire into which the oblation is made, Brahman is the person making the offering, Brahman is the act of offering, and Brahman is the goal to be reached by the offering.”

दातव्यमिति यद्दानं दीयतेऽनुपकारिणे | देशे काले च पात्रे च तद्दानं सात्विकं स्मृतम् ||
Dātavyam iti yad dānaṁ dīyate anupakāriṇe deśhe kāle cha pātre cha tad dānaṁ sāttvikaṁ smṛitam.
“That giving in any place, time, and to anyone, is worthy of being called charity and is sattvic, which is given without the sentiment of doing a favor.”
(NB: “Sattvic” is neutral, not Karma-generating, hence of the nature of “release,” since Karma is binding.)

Aśhraddhayā hutaṁ dattaṁ tapas taptaṁ kṛitaṁ cha yat asad ity uchyate pārtha na cha tat pretya no iha.
“That charity or performance of austerity (tapas) that is offered without devotion is asat (literally ‘not Being,’ ‘not truth’), O Partha (Arjuna’s epithet), and it has neither value in this world nor the next.”

“All who confirm Vedantic knowledge and purify themselves through the yoga of renunciation, reach Brahmaloka (the kingdom of God) and become immortal.”

“This teaching may not be shared by you with those who have not performed “tapas” (austerities), nor with one who is not a “bhakta” (a devotee), nor with one who is not engaged devotionally (ashushrushave), nor with those who speak badly (abhyasooyati) about me.”
